How many members generally attend Single Gourmet events… Generally speaking that depends on the size of the facility or restaurant being used. Some of the facilities can only accommodate 60 – 70 people and some places can accommodate 100 – 200 people.

What happens when I arrive at an event … You are greeted by Single Gourmet directors who will check you in and make you feel comfortable, while introducing you to others who are there. This is a fabulous ice breaker for everyone who attends the various events.

How do I reserve for events…In every hard copy and e-mail newsletter is a list of current events along with a reservation form. Simply select the events you feel comfortable with, fill out the reservation form and return it to us along with the cost of the events you are reserving.

What kind of people do you attract…The membership of Single Gourmet is a melting pot of many different backrounds which includes doctor’s, lawyers, cpa’s, teachers, insurance agents, real estate agents, firemen, policemen, business owners and employee’s of large and small firms or businesses, just to mention a few.

What age groups attend the events…Single Gourmet attracts all ages from the mid 20′s thru the 80′s. We normally have a wonderful representation of all ages at our events. Within the events we will assign seating according to age and interest. This creates comfort for all ages to attend our events. You will always end up in your own age appropriate comfort zone. It also insures that every time you attend Single Gourmet functions, you will be seated with new and interesting members. Please review our membership application for seating requests.

Are you different from other singles groups…First off, we are a dining out organization for singles. We are not what we call a $10. buffet group that holds their singles mingles in night clubs or bars in different facilities. We tend to attract a different type of person, certainly not the game players or one night stand person that frequents other singles organizations. We feel that we draw a better quality of person because of the type of program that we have. When we dine at a restaurant we only dine at the best well known restaurants in the local area. The restaurants are carefully selected by our staff. For every three restaurants our Single Gourmet staff visits, we will choose only one. They typically are the hottest, most difficult reservations in town. We work with the chef and owner to provide you with their finest cuisine.

Many of the restaurants we use have won the prestigious Five Star Diamond Award that is presented by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences or have been recognized and been awarded the De Rona Award For Excellence or have been Zagat Rated. Also, we are not just a dining club. We started out that way, but to satisfy our members, we do other things such as tours, dance events, travel, wine tastings, and cultural events.

How many events does Single Gourmet offer…With well over 3000 members in the tri-county area we have to stay very active to accommodate the schedules of our membership. Dinner events are scheduled every week and sometimes as much as 2 – 3 times a week.

How do you seat people … Seating at events is pre-assigned by age and interest to create a feeling of comfort and interesting conversation. We have found tables of 8-10 people to be an ideal mix. We also vary the seating from event to event so you are constantly exposed to new people. We also rely on your feedback. So give us a call after your first event… let us know how you found the evening.

Is there a dress code…Proper attire is required at all dinner events. Jackets for the gentlemen are required. Jeans, tee-shirts, shorts and sneakers are not permitted at any time. Ladies should dress to impress. Single Gourmet reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone not wearing proper attire.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions…Yes, we can. Simply tell us when you reserve an event and we will have your needs looked after. We have had strict vegetarians as members, others who are allergic to certain foods and people who were restricted for religious reasons. In each case we were able to make their membership an enjoyable experience.

What happens if I do not drive… Once you attend several functions you should be able to meet people from your area who want to share a ride to our events.

How am I notified about Single Gourmet events…Each member of Single Gourmet will receive a monthly hard copy newsletter which is normally mailed to each current member around the first of every month. Around the middle of every month, for the members who utilize e-mail, an updated e-mail will be sent out each week until the new month begins and a new newsletter is released.

What night of the week are the dinner events…Dinner events are held on both week nights and weekend nights. In order to accommodate an extremely large membership, we vary the events between week nights and weekend nights.

Can I attend other chapters of Single Gourmet…As a member of Single Gourmet of South Florida you may utilize the services of any Single Gourmet organization throughout the U.S., Canada and Australia. Just notify us before you leave South Florida and we will notify the chapter of your preference that you are a member and they will take care of the rest.
